Ofsted and Performance

SGHS was inspected in September 2022 and was graded 'Outstanding' for behaviour and attitudes and 'Good' overall.

“Skipton Girls’ High School is a warm and welcoming place. Pupils are extremely polite, courteous and articulate. Staff’s expectations of what pupils can achieve are high”

“The school is inclusive and celebrates diversity. Equality and tolerance are key features of the school’s culture.”

We are delighted that our Ofsted report recognises the 'Outstanding' behaviour and attitudes of our students, the high quality of their work and their enthusiasm when approaching challenging work.  We are also proud that Ofsted have recognised our inclusive culture that celebrates diversity and a curriculum that is ambitious and encompasses both academic and extra-curricular excellence.

Ofsted Report

Skipton Girls’ High School is a centre of academic excellence where young women are challenged to succeed at the very highest levels. Each year we see this reflected in the outstanding results achieved at GCSE and A Level.

Exploiting their creative talent and intellectual energy these young women also excel across a breadth of activities which include Duke of Edinburgh, Engineering Education Scheme, Young Enterprise, and a wealth of music, sport and community activities.

Given the uneven impact of the pandemic on school and college performance data, the government has said you should not make direct comparisons between the performance data for one school or college and another, or to data from previous years.
