Careers guidance
Welcome to Skipton Girls’ High School Careers Education, Information, Advice and Guidance (CEIAG)
Skipton Girls’ High School offers high quality careers advice and guidance, to support our high achieving and ambitious students. We provide a strategically planned programme of careers education and information, advice and guidance (CEIAG) for all students throughout the school, particularly at key transition points.
In line with the statutory guidance (click here), we ensure that every student leaves SGHS prepared for life in today’s society. High quality, independent careers guidance is crucial in helping pupils emerge from school more fully rounded and ready for the world of work. Young people want and need to be well-informed when making subject and career decisions. We consistently fulfil this obligation and ensure our students develop high aspirations and consider a broad range of career options.
We employ a professionally qualified, independent Careers Advisers, who are in school regularly and attend Parents’ Evenings and Option Evenings. During Year 11 every student is invited to attend a Careers Interview where they receive independent, impartial and realistic information, advice and guidance and an Action Plan. Students from all years are entitled to careers support and can request an appointment with a Careers Advisor at any time throughout the year.
Please contact townendg@sghs.org.uk to arrange an appointment with one of our Careers Advisors.
